Judy Muchler

For much of my life, I felt deeply disconnected… from myself, from joy, and from a sense of ease in the world. It often felt as though everyone else had received a manual for life that I had somehow missed. On the outside I kept going, but internally I was struggling, overwhelmed, and unsure of my place.

What eventually changed was not a quick fix or a single insight, but a long and honest journey back to myself.

Through years of self-inquiry, healing, and learning to sit with my inner world rather than escape it, something began to soften. I started to experience moments of presence, peace, and clarity, not because life became perfect, but because I became more grounded within it.

My horses were a constant and powerful part of that journey.

Long before I understood it consciously, they offered me regulation, reflection, and a deep sense of being met without judgement. Over time, I came to see how profoundly healing it can be to slow down in nature, attune to the body, and allow insight to arise in a safe space.

Lukey

9 years old · Arabian

Lukey is highly sensitive and deeply switched on. He sees all of you, the way you see yourself when you’re alone with your inner world.

He responds to authenticity and presence. He will shy away from performance or pretence. With Lukey, you can lay down your shields and breathe realness. You can let go of trying and simply be. He will stand there, regulated, allowing you to have your moment.

He will walk beside you as long as you are present. When things become performative, he will stop until the connection is re-established. He won’t allow you to abandon yourself in those moments. Even if that means we don’t complete a single activity.

With Lukey, connection is always more important than any task.

If he could speak, he might say:

“You don’t need to impress me. Just stay with yourself.”

Donny

7 years old · Arabian

Donny is the “ADHD” horse of the herd. He wants to know what’s going on with you and who you truly are. He wants to be part of the action. He is incredibly friendly and genuinely wants to love everyone.

Standing still doesn’t come naturally to him. He will mirror your nervousness, which means you’ll have to dig deep and regulate yourself in order to calm him. But when that shift happens, it’s pure magic.

Donny will always be on your team. He will try hard for you. He will follow you and trust you. With him, you’ll need to step into leadership; calm, grounded leadership. If you are too forceful or too chaotic, he will simply choose to run away.

He will show you very clearly whether you are present or scattered inside.

Donny calms himself by eating and chewing, his way of avoiding uncomfortable emotions. I think many of us can relate to that.

If he could speak, he might say:

“Show me you’re steady, and I’ll follow you anywhere.”

My Work

Today, I support others in reconnecting with themselves through equine-assisted coaching sessions held in nature (Carbrook, QLD).

My approach is gentle, grounded, and non-clinical. There is no riding, no performance, and no pressure to “fix” anything. Instead, sessions focus on presence, awareness, emotional regulation, and creating space for clarity to emerge naturally.

I work with people who feel:

  • overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected

  • exhausted from trying to hold everything together

  • drawn to a quieter, more embodied approach to personal growth

The work is not about changing who you are… it’s about coming home to yourself.

My Background & Training

Alongside lived experience, my work is supported by formal education and training:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology

  • Coaching Certificate in Positive Psychology

  • Completion of a 10-day Vipassana meditation course

These foundations inform the way I hold space, with care, psychological awareness, and respect for each person’s individual process.

Why Horses

Horses are highly sensitive, present beings. They respond not to who we think we should be, but to who we are in the moment. In a coaching setting, they offer powerful, non-verbal feedback and support, often helping people notice patterns, emotions, and inner states that words alone cannot access.

You do not need any prior experience with horses. They are simply part of the environment and the process, offering presence rather than instruction.
